Aluminum die casting process
Aluminum die-casting precision machining is a process in which aluminum alloy materials are formed by pressure casting and then precision-machined to produce high-quality parts. The following are the main procedures and steps for precision machining of aluminum die-casting:
1. Mold design and manufacturing
According to product design requirements, special die-casting molds are developed.
The mold needs to consider product structure, shrinkage, exhaust and runner design.
High-strength materials are used to create the molds to ensure durability and accuracy.
2. Aluminum alloy smelting
Aluminum alloy raw materials are heated to the melting point to form liquid aluminum.
During the smelting process, appropriate amounts of alloying elements are added to improve material properties.
Impurities and air bubbles are removed from the melt to ensure metal purity.
3. Die casting
Liquid aluminum is quickly injected into a preheated mold.
The liquid aluminum cools rapidly within the mold and solidifies into the product shape.
Open the mold, take out the die casting, and trim the burrs.
4. Heat treatment (as specified by case)
Some die-cast parts require heat treatment to improve material strength and durability.
The steps include dissolution, quenching and artificial aging.
5. Precision machining
Use CNC machine tools or other precision equipment for secondary processing.
Including: cutting, drilling, tapping, turning and milling and other processes.
Ensure product dimensions, tolerances and surface roughness meet design specifications.
6. Surface treatment
Surface treatment based on product requirements, including:
Sandblasting: Improves surface smoothness.
Electroplating: Increases corrosion resistance and aesthetic appearance.
Spray painting or anodizing: further enhance the antioxidant performance and aesthetics.
7. Quality inspection and testing
Use measuring instruments (such as 3-coordinate measuring machines) to detect product dimensions and tolerances.
Conduct material strength, surface quality and functionality tests.
Ensure products meet design requirements and industry standards.
8. Assembly and packaging
If necessary, assemble the parts.
Once completed, it is cleaned, packaged, and ready for shipment.

Mold maintenance: Regularly maintain die-casting molds to extend their service life.
Production process monitoring: Control temperature, pressure and cooling rate to improve product consistency.
Environmental protection: Properly handle waste materials generated during processing to achieve sustainable production.
